Benefits of Meditation

Meditation is a powerful, yet simple technique that has been shown to decrease anxiety, depression, hypertension, insomnia and reduce post-acute withdrawal syndrome. Meditation also has been shown to reduce relapse rates as well.


There are many apps that have excellent guided meditations. My favorites are:

  • Insight timer (offers a lot of free content)

  • Calm (subscription required)

  • Buddhify (free)
